Katy has been involved in enterprise and entrepreneurship education since 2007, when formal support started at the RAU.  During this time Katy has developed the RAU’s award winning enterprise and entrepreneurship programme which is designed to provide students studying at the RAU with support as they develop and launch their businesses alongside their taught course.  In addition, Katy is responsible for the University’s social enterprise projects Muddy Wellies drinks (craft ale and cider), Cotswold Hills wine and Cotswold Hills honey.  Each of these projects provides students with the opportunity to develop their employability skills whilst working on a real business case study and raising funds to support students wanting to start their own businesses.

In addition, to the internal enterprise support Katy is a Committee Member of the Cirencester Youth Committee and the Cirencester E4 network, which is made up of the two secondary schools in Cirencester, as well as the FE College and together they champion enterprise education across the town and host a number of joint events including the Youth Market in March.  In addition, E4 work with Cirencester Chamber of Commerce on the Youth Committee which provides the enterprising students within Cirencester to have input into events and projects run by the Chamber and to develop their support network within the local area.

Katy was awarded the Best Innovation Award by Cirencester Chamber in Commerce in 2016 for her project management of the Enterprise Programme and in 2018 received the Paul Davies Award for developing student potential.
