Colin Carville

Biography 

As Finance Director, Colin is responsible for the financial health of the Royal Agricultural University.

After graduating with a degree in History from the University of Manchester, he trained as a Chartered Accountant in London, qualifying in 1997.

An accomplished finance professional with more than 25 years’ experience, he has successfully held a number of senior finance positions within Practice, Industry, and Higher Education.

Colin spent his early career in Practice in London at Moore Stephens before relocating to the South West where he spent 13 years as a Senior Finance Director at IHS Markit. At IHS Markit he was the finance lead and business partner for two global business lines, Automotive and Economic & Country Risk, with a combined turnover of $383m. He has significant experience in Accounting and Auditing, FP&A, M&A, change management and offshore processes.

Colin joined the RAU in June 2018. A member of the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive Group, he works closely with both the Audit & Risk committee and the Finance & Estates committee to deliver the RAU’s strategic objectives.
