A Foundation degree is a two year vocational higher education qualification, which equates to the first two years of a Bachelor’s degree.
These courses are a qualification in their own right. They are ideal if you aren’t sure if you want to commit to taking a full degree, or if you don’t have the traditional entry requirements for a Bachelor’s degree. Foundation degrees are designed for those who wish to develop their skills in the workplace and grow their academic abilities at the same time. They are designed to be practical with an emphasis on ‘hands-on’ experience.
Once you complete your Foundation degree, you can either choose to continue onto a one-year Top-up course to gain a full Bachelor’s degree or you can go straight out to work.
