William Leschallas

Biography 

Appointed as Staff Governor in March 2024.

William is Head of Employability and Professional Engagement and Senior Lecturer.

William joined the university in July 2018 after some 30 years in professional practice. He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and a Fellow of the Association of Agricultural Valuers (FAAV). Whilst at the RAU he has obtained Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). He is proud to be a RICS Assessor.

He has been Head of School for Real Estate and Rural Land Management and Programme Leader of the Real Estate, Rural Land Management, Estate Agency degree programmes. He has taught at and leads the Real Estate Double Degree at Shandong Agricultural University (SDAU) in China.

William has worked on many committees across the University giving him a wide range of institutional knowledge. The latter combines with him being an Alumnus.

During his time in practice, he provided advice on a wide range of matters across rural and real estate property. Latterly he was a director at Jackson-Stops managing the office in Burford, West Oxfordshire. He has also carried out voluntary work as a Trustee of the Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum.

He likes to spend his spare time with his family and on the golf course. He is an avid cricket fan and is a former co-Chairman of Sheepscombe Cricket Club.

William sits on the Finance and Estates Committee and Nominations Committee.

Professional memberships

Member of the RICS UK & Ireland World Regional Board: The World Regional Board delivers the RICS strategy at world regional level by overseeing plans and allocating resources to regions within the UKI.
