Teresa North
Biography
As Transformation Director Teresa’s portfolio is to provide direction and drive a portfolio of strategic projects that are critical to achieving the University’s strategic goals. Current core projects include the £5.8m Land Laboratories capital project, funded by the Office for Students; supporting a transformation phase with the RAU Students' Union; expansion of CPD and Executive Education; global online and the development of the Innovation Village.
Prior to joining, Teresa worked in finance in both the construction and oil industry. A long and varied career with the Royal Agricultural College, now Royal Agricultural University, has followed. Teresa’s first position was within finance, assisting with the transition of financial systems and development of financial processes. At the conclusion of this project Teresa moved into Professional Services with a brief to increase commercial conferencing business and set up operational systems. As the success of conferencing grew, along with the support team, Teresa became responsible for other areas of delivery to support both the student and commercial experience. The portfolio continued to grow to include budgetary and operational responsibility for the estate, farm, vineyard, equine centre and Alliston Centre. During this period Teresa grew award winning teams, within housekeeping and catering. Teresa worked alongside colleagues to review the farming strategy and to be part of the team to award the tender for our regenerative farming strategy, which is now in operation.
Teresa has been part of the Vice-Chancellor's Advisory Group for some years and joined the Executive team towards the end of 2025. The appointment to Transformation Director is a new post for the University. Teresa has significant experience in building successful teams, project delivery and a solid financial background. Having been at the RAU in varied roles for some years and with a history of success she is really looking forward to the opportunities this role offers.
