The Royal Agricultural University (RAU) and the Institute of Agricultural Management (IAgrM) have an impressive and long-standing history of delivering a programme designed for individuals with a real desire to implement change. As of 2024, we have agreed that this programme will now be delivered annually.

The only one of its kind, this three-week residential programme is aimed at the more proficient candidate who is already in a management role within their business and is seeking to challenge and empower their leadership and management potential.

The Institute of Agricultural Management (IAgrM) Leadership Programme provides unparalleled access and personal interaction with the most influential sector leaders from production, retail and policy across the entire food and farming industry.

This master’s level programme will develop your understanding of policy making in the UK and Brussels, arming you with a toolkit and network for the next stage of your career trajectory within the agri-food sector.

Rob Shepherd

Robert brings the leadership expertise of his past military service. He now runs the family farming business in Hampshire, chairs a sizeable environmental Farming Cluster group and has current involvements with a range of agricultural policy groups.

Programme Director – Karen Brosnan

Karen is a management consultant whose expertise includes Leadership Development and Executive Coaching. She designs programmes tailored to both organisational and individual needs, supporting executives to examine their leadership style, their temperament and their biases so they can develop positive habits.

Karen currently provides tailored leadership development training and executive coaching to clients in 25 countries around the world.

 

Programme dates 2024

Week 1

End February - beginning March TBC

The leadership orientation phase based at the Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester.

Week 2

Mid-March TBC

A four-day global leadership insight phase in Brussels and the Netherlands to consider agricultural policy, and strategic leadership (five days with travel).

Week 3

Mid-April TBC

A leading through networking phase based in Westminster, London.

Programme cost: £9,500 to cover accommodation and food for the duration and travel

Application deadline: 31 August 2023

Interviews: 25 September 2023 at the RAU, Cirencester
