Scholarships
The Royal Agricultural University offers a number of scholarships for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across a range of subject areas. In addition to this, a number of external organisations grant awards which may be of interest to RAU applicants.

International Foundation Year
We run an International Foundation Year programme in partnership with our partner, INTO London World education Centre based in London.

English language courses
Students wishing to pursue an English Language programme in the UK prior to commencing their academic programme at the Royal Agricultural University can do so with our partner INTO, based in London.

Undergraduate (Bachelor's degree)
Applicants with secondary school qualifications (i.e. Higher Secondary Certificate-HSC/ Intermediate certificate) will need to undertake an International Foundation Year to be considered for entry to undergraduate courses at the RAU.
Applicants who have completed a 2 year Bachelor degree will be considered for entry into Year 1 of the RAU undergraduate programmes:
- BSc Honours: min. 60% or CGPA 3.0
- Foundation degrees: min. 50% or CGPA 2.5
Alternatively, applicants with IB, EB, UK or US qualifications:
- For BSc(Hons) - International Baccalaureate min. 26 points
- For Foundation degrees: International Baccalaureate min. 26 points

IELTS and other accepted English language qualifications
- IELTS band score 6.0 overall or above with no less than 5.5 in each component of the ‘academic’ IELTS test.
- The test must have been taken within 2 years of the start date of the course.
*Applicants for Foundation degree courses must provide a Secure English Language Test (i.e. IELTS SELT). Please see here for more information on SELT providers.
Transfer into Year 2 or Year 3
- Academic transfers to RAU into Years 2 and 3 are possible. Contact admissions@rau.ac.uk to find out more.
GDA/GCA
UK Bachelor degree in a different discipline than Agriculture equivalent to an Upper Second Class Honours.
Students with Bangladeshi qualifications would require:
- A Bachelor’s degree (3-4 years duration) AND
- Master’s degree
CGPA 3.0+ or 60%+ is considered equivalent to a 2:1
Alternatively, students who hold a Bachelor’s degree(from BUET) 4-5 years in duration will be considered for entry to the MSc programmes.
Postgraduate Taught (MSc and MBA)
Students who hold a Bachelor’s degree which was 3-4 years duration followed by a Master’s degree will be considered for entry to the postgraduate taught programmes.
- CGPA 3.0+ or 60%+ is considered equivalent to a 2:1
- CGPA 2.75 + or 55%+ is considered equivalent to 2:2
Alternatively, students who hold a Bachelor’s degree(from BUET) 4-5 years in duration will be considered for entry to the MSc programmes. Students wo seek entry into the MBA programmes will need to have a the equivalent of a UK 2:1 honours degree and minimum 2 years work experience at management level.
IELTS and other accepted English language qualifications
- IELTS band score 6.5 overall or above with no less than 5.5 in each component of the ‘academic’ IELTS test
- The test must have been taken within 2 years of the start of the course
Postgraduate Research
- For entry to the MSc by Research applicants are expected to hold the equivalent of a UK Upper Second Class Honours degree (2:1). See Postgraduate Taught entry criteria above for equivalent Bangladeshi qualifications
- For entry to the PhD programme we would require applicants to hold a Master’s degree or Masters in Philosophy(MPhil) from a Bangladeshi HEI with 65%+ or CGPA 3.25+
Mature candidates with significant relevant work experience and lower academic qualifications may also be considered for entry, following personal interview with the Director of Research and Knowledge Exchange.
IELTS and other accepted English language qualifications
- IELTS band score of minimum 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in Writing and no less than 5.5 in any other component. (The test must have been taken within two years of the start of the course)

Undergraduate
