Enterprise is really important as a fundamental skill. Students get involved from day one at the RAU with the Enterprise Programme.

At the end of last year we conducted some focus groups and from that we have launched a new enterprise offering. This will be support in three different ways.

To start off with we have Ignite Inspire, this is for all students, we will be conducting workshops, we will have guest speakers along, and this is for everyone to just offer some inspiration for them.

Ignite Nurture, this is when we are nurturing those students who are looking to start up their own businesses. We've supported so many fantastic student entrepreneurs throughout their journey. Examples include people like the Dartmoor Shepherd, Lewis Steer, Beaufort and Blake with their dress shirts and many other food businesses including Coppernose Jerky.

To undertake this process without the RAU's backing would have made it a lot harder. Their wealth of experience, their contacts, all the things they've helped with has really made this experience a lot easier.

The third part of our Ignite offering is Ignite Venture. This is where we showcase our award-winning Cotswold Hills wine.

Students have always been at the heart of Cotswold Hills as a social enterprise project back from when we launched it in 2016 when we took on the vineyard, students helped us choose branding,

they helped us to choose which varieties we were going to have, that provides students with a fantastic opportunity to develop their employability and enterprise skills as well as provide an income to our entrepreneurial fund.

Through the three strands of our new enterprise programme Ignite, we're looking to empower our students and give them everything they need to follow their dreams and ignite success.
