Transcript of RAU's Equestrian Centre Video
Welcome to Fossehill, the equine enterprise, for the Royal Agricultural University. We are a BHS Approved livery yard, which is open from dawn till dusk, 365 days a year to meet yours and your equestrian needs for both horse and rider.
We're only a short drive from campus or a twenty-minute walk. You get to meet a lot of different students not only on equine courses but all across the board. We offer stabling for up to seventy-two horses, great off-road hacking all across the RAU farms, it’s really great to facilitate different types of exercise for your horse all year round.
Facilities here at Fossehill are fantastic. We've got our horse walker here. Our arena is floodlit, so we can use it in the winter as well. We're not time-constrained with it. This is our student's barn, it's nice that we can have them all in together where they can get to know one another and can offer support and advice when needed. We've got plenty of turnout available at the moment, now for the summer most of the horses are living out 24/7. All the paddocks have electric fencing and automatic water drinkers. This is our canter track, it is one mile long, circular the whole way around. It's a wood chip surface so it weathers pretty well all year. We're really lucky to have this, it's one of the only ones in the area.
What I love about Fossehill equestrian is that it's so relaxed and there's such good facilities on site and the fact that we can meet new people that have got similar interests. It's so lovely to be here at Fossehill.
