University’s Farm491 agritech hub launches competition to foster innovation in the natural world

An exciting new competition to encourage and support companies fostering innovation in our natural world is being launched by Farm491, the Royal Agricultural University’s innovation hub focused on the future of farming and food systems.

Generously supported by Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, the three-year series of the Farm491 Challenge Prize will enable companies, which are developing innovative ways to solve challenges in the natural world, to invest in their business and develop their product.

Biography 

Adewale Ogunmodede is an agricultural economist with over 12 years of experience in international development research and teaching. His work is driven by a deep passion for sustainable agriculture and the empowerment of youths and smallholder farmers. Adewale's contributions to the agriculture and food security sector are particularly notable in enhancing youth and smallholder crop productivity, food and nutrition security, and overall livelihoods.

This programme is designed to equip learners to pursue careers in historic built environment conservation, regeneration and retrofitting. Moving out of your rental house

Many agencies and landlords have a ‘move-out’ document. Understanding what is expected helps speed the move-out process and reduces the likelihood of disputes. You have a responsibility to return the property in the same condition that it was let to you, allowing for fair wear and tear. The landlord or agent does a closing inventory with you to witness the move-out. Have a copy of the original inventory with you. Run through the checklist. This will result in fewer problems and a quicker return of your deposit.

Be a good neighbour and tenant

Moving into rented accommodation can be an exciting time. Often it is your first taste of independent life. It is important to remember that you are now a member of the local community, and that you have an obligation to take care of yourself, your neighbours, your belongings and your home.

Tenancy agreements

There are different types of agreement but, provided the accommodation does not have a ‘resident landlord’, your agreement will normally be one of two types:
