Final Wild Campus Blog 31/05/2023

As we near the end of the project, we would like to take the time to reflect on the project as whole, what we have achieved and look forward to what comes next. At the start of the project in 2020, Cirencester College (CC) and the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) joined forces to begin creating a more wildlife friendly area by developing habitats, enhancing biodiversity, and investing in the health and wellbeing of the local community.

Weddings

Make memories

The perfect venue for your wedding in the Cotswolds.

We have lots of options for your special day, including a stunning chapel onsite and some historic private reception rooms that are licensed for civil ceremonies.

Should you wish to tie the knot at a private religious ceremony, our picturesque Victorian Chapel, located within the grounds, is fully licensed and available for hire. This can be arranged with the agreement of our resident Chaplain, who is always pleased to meet and discuss formalities with prospective brides and grooms.

Wayleave Officer Training Programmes

Our Wayleave Officer Training Programmes, designed and delivered by experts in the field, are offered both online and face-to-face.

With a blended learning approach adopted, which includes discussion of real-life case studies, our range of programme courses enable Wayleave Officers to develop the skills and understanding needed to deliver best practice.

Transparency return

The Royal Agricultural University (RAU) is a small and specialised land-based institution.

While we have comparatively high levels of diversity in our postgraduate community, recruitment to the undergraduate programmes has traditionally come from those who reside within English rural communities, which are not diverse.

I've been riding since I was two years old. I've been competing since I was about nine. I want to go into veterinary medicine, so it was a good step through.

I found out about the RAU one day in my old college library, and I looked up the website and just thought, this looks incredible, the alumni have gone on to do so many amazing things.

I'm so happy I came to the RAU, the friends I've made here will be friends for life, the contacts I've made will be so useful for the future.

We're often asked, you know, what does the land agent do? What does the rural land manager do? What does an estate manager do? You could go work on a large estate, you might be advising somebody who just owns an acre or two of land, you might want to go and work with one of the big national firms; Strutt and Parker, Bidwells, Savills. But your character might actually be better placed going into a more local firm.
