The governing body consists of between six and 12 Independent Governors, up to two co-opted Governors, the Vice-Chancellor, one Student Governor and one Staff Governor.

The Governing Council has at least five formal meetings and a strategy day each year. No members of the Governing Council receive any remuneration for the work they perform. The Governing Council has a number of committees that report to it. These are formally constituted with terms of reference and delegated powers.

There is an increasing drive to bridge the gap between science and practice in the agricultural sector. Increasingly complicated challenges in agriculture require collaborative, complementary, and co-created knowledge and innovation that is ready to implement in practice. This requires a bottom up approach with farmers, foresters and other rural businesses working with researchers to action innovation. These approaches have been actioned under H2020 EU funding streams through the development of multi-actor projects.

EURAKNOS is a European project, funded by H2020, to maximise the agricultural innovation knowledge base by building an e-knowledge platform to enable the rural community easier access to best practices from all EU H2020 Thematic Networks.

The University’s admissions process is subject to the Consumers Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. This means that students have the ‘Right to Cancel’ their application to study within 14 days of accepting their place to study.

How do I apply for a postgraduate course?

Applying to a postgraduate course can be done online from the relevant course page. Click the ‘Apply now’ tab on the top right of the course page and follow the instructions to create an online account. You can log in and out of this account as many times as you wish to complete all the required sections.
