The RAU in Uzbekistan

We are the founding partner of the International Agriculture University (IAU) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Opened in 2022 IAU is one of 20 new autonomous universities being developed in Uzbekistan to ensure Uzbek students have access to international-quality education that will enable them to contribute to the economic, social and cultural development of Uzbekistan. The selection of agriculture for one of the first of these new universities reflects the significance of the sector, both within Uzbekistan and globally.

Student who has “wanted to be a farmer since I was a foot tall” scoops prestigious agriculture bursary

An agriculture student who has wanted to be a farmer all his life has been awarded this year’s prestigious John Innes Foundation Bursary which supports young people starting their farm management and crop production careers.

Charlie Rogers, 18, is in his first year studying Applied Farm Management at the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) in Cirencester and was selected for the bursary from eight applicants.

PhD student, who makes sustainable rope from British wool, named as one of top 50 Women in Innovation in the UK

A PhD student from the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) who has made sustainable rope from British wool has won a coveted Women in Innovation award.

Kate Drury is one of just 50 winners, selected from more than 900 applications, in the annual Women in Innovation Awards, run by Innovate UK and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and announced today to coincide with International Women’s Day.

Professor Phil Murray is passionate about soil ecology, grassland and sustainable agriculture and has published over 100 papers on a wide range of related subjects. He retired from Rothamsted Research in 2017
