Royal Agricultural University awarded prestigious silver ranking for its teaching excellence

Staff and students at the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) are celebrating this week after both the student experience and student outcomes at the University were commended as being of “typically very high quality” in this year’s Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), announced this morning.

 

The Cirencester-based university, which was founded in 1845 and celebrates its tenth year as a University this year, was awarded Silver in the latest TEF ratings, a national scheme run by the Office for Students (OfS).

Biography 

Professor Lianhai Wu is interested in the areas of the interaction of plants with their physical environment, climate change, carbon sequestration, nutrient and water use efficiencies, mitigation of nitrogen pollution and systems modelling. He has published over 130 peer-reviewed papers and developed a process-based model – SPACSYS. Lianhai retired from Rothamsted Research in 2023.

Lecturer in Business

Professionally a bookkeeper, financial administrator and management accountant. Early career I worked in high street banking, local government, and a leading supply chain and logistics company.  Since 2013 I have worked in practice / client orientated environments providing accountancy functions to clients in the charities sector and, most recently, farms and estates.

I am a recent graduate of the RAU’s Graduate Diploma in Agriculture.

Royal Agricultural University welcomes news that UK will rejoin Horizon research collaboration programme

Staff at the Royal Agricultural University have welcomed the news that the Government has struck a deal for UK scientists to have access to the world’s largest multilateral research collaboration programme, Horizon Europe.

Funding research in areas from climate change and improving food security to terminal diseases and artificial intelligence, Horizon brings together scientists and companies from more than 40 countries.
